Domains & DNS
Your own domain, connected to your servers at GoodFlare.
Add a domain you already own to the customer area, wherever it is registered. We look up where it lives today and show you the way that fits: change its records right here if it sits in your own Cloudflare account, or get the exact records to enter at your current provider.
Two ways to manage it
Through your Cloudflare account
You connect the zone with an API token that may edit only this one domain. Records and templates then write straight into your zone, which stays in your own Cloudflare account. We store the token encrypted, and you can remove it at any time.
At your current provider
Your records stay where they are. The customer area shows every record you need, ready to copy, and checks with two public resolvers whether it is visible yet.
What works today
- Any domain you own, whichever registrar it is with
- Where it stands today: nameservers, registrar and expiry date where the registry publishes them, DNSSEC and the usual records
- All records at a glance (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA, NS), and through Cloudflare added, changed and deleted right here
- One-click templates for your servers at GoodFlare: Minecraft server (A/AAAA and SRV), VPS (A/AAAA, with www if you like) and TeamSpeak on your VPS
- Templates for common email services, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC
- A history of who changed records, applied templates or connected the token, and when
How it works
- 1
You sign in to the customer area and enter your domain
- 2
We look up where its records are managed today
- 3
On Cloudflare, you connect it with a token; elsewhere, we show what to enter at your provider
- 4
A template points the domain at your server, and "Check" shows when everything is publicly visible
Questions about Cloudflare
- Does my domain move to GoodFlare when I connect it?
- No. The domain and its DNS stay in your own Cloudflare account, with your plan and your settings, and nothing changes at your registrar. Connecting only lets the customer area work on this one zone, so you can change its records and apply templates here.
- Can I keep using Cloudflare?
- Yes. Cloudflare remains your DNS provider: the proxy, protection, caching and every other setting stay as they are, and you can keep working in Cloudflare's dashboard. The customer area reads the records from Cloudflare, so it also shows what you change there.
- What happens when I disconnect?
- The customer area loses its access to the zone; your domain and all its records stay at Cloudflare exactly as they are. If you connected with an API token, you can also delete it at Cloudflare under My Profile · API Tokens.
Registering new domains and transferring domains to us is not available yet; it will follow. We will name a date or prices once it is ready, not before. Until then, you connect domains you hold with another provider.
Anyone running a game server or VPS with us who wants it reachable under their own domain, such as a Minecraft server at play.your-domain.com that players join without typing a port.
