A note on this translation

The German text is the binding one. This translation is provided for convenience only. Notices are welcome in English.

02

What this is about

We store content for our customers: on game servers, VPS and websites. This content is not ours. If you find content there that you consider illegal, you can report it to us here (Art. 16 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, Digital Services Act, DSA).

Use the same channel to report violations of our Acceptable Use Policy, such as spam, attacks or scans coming from our IP addresses.

03

How to report

Most easily through our notice form at goodflare.io/report-abuse. It asks for everything we need for the review, and you receive a reference number.

Or by e-mail to hello@goodflare.io, ideally with the subject “Report of illegal content”.

We accept notices in German and in English.

04

What your notice should contain

So that we can assess a notice diligently, it should contain (Art. 16(2) DSA):

  • a sufficiently substantiated explanation of why you consider the content illegal, ideally naming the law or right infringed
  • the exact location of the content: the full address (URL), for game servers the server address with port and, where needed, where exactly the content is, such as the in-game name, time or chat channel
  • your name and e-mail address; notices about child sexual abuse material (offences under Art. 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU) can be made without them
  • a statement that you believe in good faith that the information and allegations in your notice are accurate and complete
05

Important for abuse material

Never send us child sexual abuse material as a file or screenshot, not even as evidence: possessing and passing it on is a crime. Give us the address only. You can also report such content to the police or to hotlines such as jugendschutz.net or internet-beschwerdestelle.de.

06

What happens after your notice

If you gave an e-mail address, we confirm receipt without undue delay (Art. 16(4) DSA).

The proprietor, Arne Heidrich, reviews every notice personally. We use no AI services or other automated means for this. A person always decides whether and how we act.

We handle notices in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective manner (Art. 16(6) DSA). Urgent cases such as active phishing, malware or abuse material come first. We do not promise fixed handling times.

Often we first ask our customer to respond or fix the issue. Depending on the case we block individual content, pause the service or terminate the contract, as our Acceptable Use Policy describes.

We inform you of our decision without undue delay, with how you can challenge it and whether automated means were involved (Art. 16(5) and (6) DSA).

We pass your identity to the affected customer only where strictly necessary for the statement of reasons (Art. 17(3)(b) DSA), for example where your own rights were infringed.

07

If your content is affected

If we restrict a customer’s service or content, the customer receives a clear and specific statement of reasons by e-mail and in the customer area, at the latest when the restriction starts (Art. 17 DSA). It contains:

  • which measure we took for which service or content, and for how long
  • the facts and circumstances relied on, and whether the decision follows a notice or our own review
  • whether automated means were used in detection or decision
  • for illegal content, the legal ground and why the content is illegal under it
  • for violations of our terms, the rule concerned and why the content breaks it
  • how to object: by replying to the notice or to hello@goodflare.io; the proprietor then reviews the case again personally. Recourse to the courts remains open.
08

Suspected crimes

If we become aware of information giving rise to a suspicion that a criminal offence involving a threat to the life or safety of a person has taken place, is taking place or is likely to take place, we promptly inform the competent law enforcement or judicial authorities (Art. 18 DSA).

09

Point of contact for users (Art. 12 DSA)

For any question about our services you can reach us directly by e-mail at hello@goodflare.io or by phone at +49 176 30553374. A person answers, not only an automated system. Languages: German and English.

10

Point of contact for authorities (Art. 11 DSA)

Member State authorities, the European Commission and the European Board for Digital Services can reach us electronically at hello@goodflare.io, ideally with the subject “DSA authority request”. Languages: German and English.

We inform the issuing authority without undue delay of the effect given to orders under Art. 9 and 10 DSA.

11

Complaints to the regulator

If you believe we infringe the DSA, you can lodge a complaint with the Bundesnetzagentur as Digital Services Coordinator (Art. 53 DSA, § 12 DDG), via bundesnetzagentur.de.

12

Unfounded notices

Knowingly false notices can infringe the rights of others. We handle manifestly unfounded notices with lower priority.
