Final prices in euros: as a small business under § 19 UStG we charge no VAT. Quarterly billing costs 5 % less, yearly 10 %. Player numbers are estimates from the hardware; the real number depends on mods, world and settings.

Optional extras, such as more backup slots, are named in the configurator with their price. DDoS filtering: attacks on the application level (layer 7) are not filtered, and we cannot promise that a server stays reachable during an attack; the FAQ on the start page has the details.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Valheim server cost?
From €4.99 a month for Valheim Basic with 2 GB of memory, up to €9.99 for Valheim Plus. Quarterly billing costs 5 % less, yearly 10 %. There is no setup fee, and we never charge per player.
How much memory does a Valheim server need?
Iron Gate names no hardware for a server of your own; our plans rest on our own estimates. Basic with 2 GB is meant for a small group, Plus with 4 GB for the full group, mods or a large world.
How many players fit on my Valheim server?
Our plans are sized for about 5 to 10 players. These are estimates from the hardware; the real number depends on mods, world and settings. We never limit or charge for slots. Valheim itself allows at most ten players on a server.
Can I install mods?
Yes, from Thunderstore in one click via BepInEx, with their dependencies. Worlds you upload, download, switch or start anew.
Does crossplay work?
Yes, you switch crossplay on for your world in the panel. Then players on Xbox and the Microsoft Store can join too.
Can I change the plan or the game later?
Yes. A larger or smaller plan is billed pro rata, and on the same server you can install another game for the same price. Before the switch we take a safety copy, so you can go back.
Where do my servers run?
In Nuremberg, Germany. Your data stays in the EU and the contract is under German law, so the GDPR applies in full. The data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is part of every contract.
Am I tied into a contract?
Only for the term you choose: monthly, quarterly or yearly. There is no setup fee in the shop. You cancel from your account and the server runs until the end of the term. After the first term, as a consumer you can cancel at any time with one month's notice; we refund the time already paid after that pro rata. If you move on, you download a game server in full with one click: files, databases and setup, even for 30 days after the end, until it is deleted.
