Frequently asked questions
How much does hosting a Discord bot cost?
From €1.49 a month for 512 MB of memory, up to €5.99 for 4 GB. Quarterly billing costs 5 % less, yearly 10 %, and there is no setup fee.
What language can my bot be written in?
Anything that runs on Node.js, Python, Java, Bun and Go, such as discord.js, discord.py or JDA. You can switch the runtime and its version in the panel at any time; your files stay.
Does my bot run around the clock?
Yes, it runs on our servers in Nuremberg, even when your computer is off. After a crash it restarts by itself if you like, and the monitoring in the panel shows you how it is doing.
How does my code get onto the server?
From a Git repository, private ones too, fetched fresh at every start, or by upload in the file manager and over SFTP. We install dependencies automatically, and detect the start command or take your own.
Where does my bot keep its data?
In the server's files or in a MariaDB or PostgreSQL database of its own. Secrets such as the bot token go into environment variables, which we store encrypted and show masked.
Where do my servers run?
In Nuremberg, Germany. Your data stays in the EU and the contract is under German law, so the GDPR applies in full. The data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is part of every contract.
How can I pay?
By credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay, SEPA Direct Debit, PayPal, Klarna, Amazon Pay, Revolut Pay or Wero, through Stripe and in euros. For automatic renewals, a card, SEPA Direct Debit and PayPal can be saved; Klarna, Amazon Pay, Revolut Pay and Wero are for a single payment only. All prices are final: as a small business under § 19 UStG (German VAT law) we do not charge VAT. If you need an invoice paid by bank transfer for a business account, write to us and we will set it up.
Am I tied into a contract?
Only for the term you choose: monthly, quarterly or yearly. There is no setup fee in the shop. You cancel from your account and the server runs until the end of the term. After the first term, as a consumer you can cancel at any time with one month's notice; we refund the time already paid after that pro rata. If you move on, you download a game server in full with one click: files, databases and setup, even for 30 days after the end, until it is deleted.
